Why I Don't Argue On the Internet

At this point in my life, I have nothing to prove to strangers and everything to protect—my peace, my energy, and my time.

I used to think engaging in a spirited back-and-forth online meant standing up for what I believed in. But let’s be real: most internet arguments aren’t about learning or understanding. They’re about ego, one-upmanship, and who can hit “reply” the fastest with a snarky comeback.
These days, I choose a different path.
I don’t argue on the internet because I’ve learned that not every opinion needs a rebuttal, and not every loud voice deserves an audience. I’d rather sip my coffee and scroll on by than get sucked into a thread that will leave me drained, not enlightened.
Life’s too short to fight with strangers in the comments section—or call out friends who think differently than I do. I can love people and disagree with them, quietly. That’s not weakness. That’s wisdom. I’ve got books to read, people I love to check on, and joy to chase. I’ve learned the value of letting silence do the talking.
So no, I won’t argue on the internet. I’ll be over here—seasoned, centered, and delightfully unbothered with clear and strong boundaries that I embrace.
