My life has been a beautiful mix of blessings and challenges, fullness and loss, seasons of giving and seasons of receiving. Through it all, I’ve learned so much—and still, I often find myself surprised and humbled by whatever comes next.
This page is a gathering place - a community of women who love to learn from one another, share openly, and offer encouragement along the way. I'm so grateful you've stopped by. It's an honor to welcome you here.
I've brought with me a small collective of incredible women who have touched my life in a variety of ways. They are graciously willing to contribute as occasional writers for our growing community. Say hello to the women behind The Seasoned Lady—a vibrant collective of women, storytellers, and spirited souls who believe life only gets better with experience, hard work and the support of community. From heartfelt reflections to kitchen adventures and honest conversations about the everyday, these ladies bring warmth, wit, and wisdom to everything they write. Each voice is distinct, but together they create a cozy corner of the internet where stories are shared like favorite recipes and readers are always welcome to pull up a chair and stay awhile.
Meet Patti
A leader, mentor, entrepreneur, and creative at heart, Patti brings a powerful blend of ministry experience, business acumen, and deep compassion for people to every space she enters. Her journey began in a season of both strength and struggle—as a young, suddenly-single mom raising two children while building a career in logistics and finance. That chapter gave her grit, grace, and a firsthand understanding of the pressures modern women face. It also laid the foundation for the wisdom and empathy she brings to her work today. Patti eventually became a business analyst on Lexmark International’s first internet team, then transitioned into ministry life after marrying her husband, Brett. Together, they became parents of four children in a beautifully blended family, and began the meaningful (and at times messy) work of building a unified home. Their journey through blended family life has deeply shaped Patti’s heart for mentoring women through the complexities of parenting, marriage, and grace-filled growth. She went on to serve as ministry assistant to the senior pastor at her Church, managing a broad scope of church operations with excellence and care. Later, Patti embraced entrepreneurship as the founder and operator of Woodford Wicks Candle Company, leading the business to over 80% annual growth and securing product placement in national retailers like Hallmark, Bass Pro Shops, and Gander Mountain, as well as hundreds of boutique shops across the U.S. From 2015 to 2022, Patti and Brett served as church planting missionaries in the Bay Area of California, deeply investing in community, discipleship, and leadership development. In 2021, after the devastating loss of their son, God led them back to Kentucky to heal near family and lifelong friends. Today, Patti continues to serve through mentorship and business consulting, volunteering her time to help entrepreneurs develop their vision and grow their businesses. She also walks closely with young women, wives, and mothers—offering wisdom, authenticity, and a Christ-centered view of biblical femininity. Whether she’s strategizing with a startup, leading a Bible study, or opening her home for a meal, Patti is committed to building up others with humility, hospitality, and hope.
Meet Melissa
Melissa Northcutt is one of those people who, much like you, has a dozen titles. She's a daughter, sister, wife, mom, community volunteer, educator, HR Coordinator, friend, and so much more. She is married to Scott and they have been blessed with six children, loving spouses to their married children, and 3 beautiful grandchildren. Melissa and Scott celebrate 35 years of marriage this year. The life they have built together is full of rich memories, friendships that have stood the test of time, their faith community and ministry, and dreams for the future. Melissa was fortunate to be able to stay at home during most of the family’s “at home” years. At 42, she reentered the workplace full time and has built a career in human resources. This field is fulfilling because she gets the opportuity to impact someone's life daily. She finds the most joy in opening her heart and home to her family and friends. There is always room at the table at their place!

Mandy Resmondo is a dynamic leader, wellness advocate, and Pensacola native who knows that true strength comes from the inside out. As Corporate Vice President at Landrum Talent Solutions, she’s built a career on connecting people with purpose—but her passion for fitness, nutrition, and adventurous living keeps her grounded and energized. In her mid-forties, Mandy embodies what it means to lead with both head and heart. She’s a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who shows up consistently—for her people, her purpose, and herself. At The Seasoned Lady, Mandy shares real talk on resilience, leadership, and staying strong in every sense of the word.
Meet Sass'mirelda
Author of #SaturdaySass on The Seasoned Lady
Sass’mirelda is the nom de plume of our newest Guest Contributer. Writing in the shadow of such anon writers as Ben Franklin (Richard Saunders) Mary Westmacott (Agatha Christie) and Mary Ann Evans (George Eliot), she is excited to add her humor and sass to the conversation within our community. Sass'mirelda is a seasoned professional, mom and friend with a creative spirit who, in her mid-sixties, brings decades of lived wisdom "wrapped in silver wavey locks" and a wardrobe that dances between boho whimsy and polished sophistication. Her skin kissed by sun and stories, and earrings as bold as her perspective, she meets life with a joyful realism, wielding wit and a splash of sarcasm like a finely tuned instrument. Sassy but never sharp, she finds laughter in life’s labyrinths and celebrates its peaks with unapologetic flair. Sass’mirelda writes not just with a pen, but with a soul tuned to the humor and heart of the human experience. Her story includes laughing until the tears ran, crying until she collapsed in sleep and ermerging high atop a mountain peak that was such a rugged climb that she had seriously begun to question her venture. She's bumped and bruised, loved and celebrated, and has lovingly supported so many friends along her journey. She hopes you will pardon her anonymity, yet be touched by her voice that laughs its way through the ups and downs of this crazy, beautiful and blessed life.
